A 3D printed for learn coding!
FABsussidiario is an interagrated solution (books + school kit for kids) to ease the learning process of 3D printing, 3D scanning, coding and creative robotics for students. The kit was created by PaLEoS for italian schools, teachers and students.
Inside the kit (distribuited in italian schools by C2 Group, students can find a Sharebot KIWI-3D EDU (the small and craft desktop 3D printer for educational), documents and papers about its use during a class. The kit also includes projects, electronic parts and circuitries to start to build a robot EDUino as a class project.
EDUino is a bug look like robot that can be completely 3D printed at school and, being based on Arduino technology, allows to learn the main principles of robotics and coding (with basic and advanced lessons) thanks to the integrated papaers attached with the FABsussidiario volume.
The robot can be managed remotely with an App (thanks to the bluetooth configuration), has a sensors system (sound, ultrasounds, light. Each already integrated in the kit) and a programming course thought to be applied by young students named Visualino with also the Arduino IDE and AppInventor tools (both intended for primary school kids).
The designs and files to print and build EDUino are already loaded inside the SD Card of the Sharebot KIWI-3D EDU. Students will also find the programming sketch. One the most exicing features of EDUino is about the fact that it’s completely open: students and teachers can modifty the robot adding new features, sensors or changing the printed parts!
The main core of the FABsussidiario offer for school resides in the open philosophy and the Do It Yourself (DIY) method, crucial for the EDUino didactic value: students are invited to create their own robot, customize it by adding new features or changing its look. Building a personal version of EDUino encourage the kids creativity and it’s part of the intense experience provided by digital tabrication.[/one_half][one_half_last]The subsidiay will lead students during their learning process, helping them to overtake problem with their creativity. 3D printing the robot parts, assembling them, wiring, programming and coding are all part of a bigger learning process: like real makers, kid will learn how to overtake limits and problems to transform their ideas in something real and concrete![/one_half_last]
Sharebot KIWI-3D EDU
The desktop 3D printer for educational
Sharebot Kiwi-3D EDU is a small, craft 3D printer dedicated to schools, students, hobbysts and young professionals who want to start working with 3D printing technology using a solid, rapid, easy to use and reliable tool with small size that can be used in every working environmet. The printer has also the tipical and elegant “Made in Italy” design.
Sharebot Kiwi-3D EDU has a building area of 140x100x100 mm; it uses FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) technology to realize functional objects, models and prototypes with great quality. Kiwi-3D comes from the Sharebot NG development and it has the aim to transform every desk in a personal creativity center.
The printer has a LCD screen (with an easy to use control knob to scroll up and down the entire machine menu) which allows to control and manage the entire printing process, modifying parameters and settings, selecting the object you want to print directly from the SD card. It’s also possible to work on printer settings during the printing process to improve the print quality.
Kiwi-3D EDU is optimized to print with PLA-S (a easy to use thermoplastic filament with good quality and definition); it has a 0.4 mm nozzle while the minimum layer thickness is 0.1 mm to have the better resolution even on the smallest detail.
